I stopped in last week and the atmosphere is genuinely special. It is the kind of place where strangers start conversations and the staff takes time to explain the menu. For Hudson, Florida residents, it is about a 20-minute drive south on US-19, and it makes for a perfect weekend morning outing paired with a walk along the Cotee River waterfront.
For something closer to Hudson Beach FL, Rye Street Deli & Dogs has opened in New Port Richey serving deli sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs, and fresh sides. It is a casual, no-fuss spot that fills a gap in the local lunch scene. Perfect for grabbing a sandwich to go before heading to the beach or picking up lunch after a morning fishing charter.
Local Tip: Haraz Coffee is best visited on a weekday morning when it is quieter. The qishr is unlike anything else you will find in Pasco County. If you are a coffee lover, this is worth the drive from anywhere on the Hudson Beach FL coast. Bring a book and plan to stay awhile.

Both are still building their local following, and I have heard encouraging reports from neighbors who have tried them.
- Original Floridian Bar and Grill
A new concept in the St. Joe/Dade City area, this Florida Cracker brand restaurant brings history-themed dining to eastern Pasco County. A bit of a drive from the Hudson Beach FL coast, but it makes for a nice weekend road trip through the county's rural side. The Florida Cracker culinary tradition is a unique part of the state's food heritage.

- KSplitz Ice Cream
A new ice cream shop in Wesley Chapel, a growing hub for dining and shopping in eastern Pasco County. KSplitz is further from Hudson Beach FL, but if you find yourself in the Wesley Chapel area for shopping or the Matt Capps concert weekend (September 11-12), it is worth a stop.
- The Greyson Sports Bar
A planned sports bar in Wesley Chapel targeting a late 2026 opening. This one is further out on the calendar but worth mentioning for anyone who follows development in Pasco County. When it opens, it will join the growing entertainment and dining options in the fast-growing Wesley Chapel corridor.
Labor Day Weekend: A Last Chance to Try What is New
Labor Day weekend (September 5-7) is the perfect opportunity to explore some of these new spots. With SunWest Park wrapping up its summer season and the beaches at their quietest since June, you have time for a proper culinary adventure in Pasco County.
My recommendation for the long weekend: start Saturday morning with coffee at Haraz Coffee in New Port Richey, spend the afternoon at Robert K. Rees Memorial Park or exploring the downtown shops, then head to Stillwaters Tavern Bexley or Lumbre for dinner. On Sunday, hit the Art n Craft Market at Snack Shack (August 30 is the next one) and grab lunch at Rye Street Deli & Dogs before heading home. It is a weekend itinerary that shows how much the Pasco County dining scene has grown.
New Spot Dining Tip: Most of the new restaurants and coffee shops I have listed here are independently owned and operated. They are still in the early stages of building their reputations, which means the owners are often on site, the staff is eager to impress, and the quality is high. This is the best time to visit them. And if you have a good experience, leave a review. What is Still the Same: The Old Favorites in Hudson Beach FL
With all the new openings, I want to be clear: the tried-and-true favorites along the Hudson Beach FL coast are still going strong. Sam's Beach Bar (6325 Clark Street) and Inn on the Gulf (6330 Clark Street) remain the premier waterfront dining destinations on the Hudson, Florida coast. Hudson Beach Ice Cream Parlor (6930 Clark Street) still has the best ice cream on the Gulf coast with over 40 flavors to choose from. And Skinny's Bar & Grill on US-19 continues to be the place locals go for cold beer, live music, and good conversation.
The new spots I have covered here are not replacements for those local institutions. They are additions to a dining landscape that is growing and maturing in exciting ways. Having more great places to eat within a 20-minute drive of Hudson Beach FL only makes this coast a better place to live.
The Bigger Picture: Pasco County's Growing Dining Scene
What I find most encouraging about these new openings is the diversity they bring to Pasco County. Yemeni coffee, Korean cuisine, Latin grills, farm-to-table American, and craft dessert shops all opening within a short drive of Hudson Beach FL. That is not something you could have said about this area even two years ago.
The county's growth is bringing new residents, new investment, and new businesses that reflect the people who live here. For anyone thinking about making the Gulf coast their home, this kind of dining evolution is a sign of a healthy, growing community. It is one of the reasons I am so optimistic about the future of Hudson, Florida and the surrounding Pasco County coast.
